Perfection is Continual Failure

Have you ever seen the perfection? No person can accomplish perfection and any person who attempts at perfection will continually fail. Robin Penn Wright once said “I want to be perfect. I don’t want to fail. I always fail”. No person can strive for perfection because they will always fail. They will fail even more the more perfect they try to become. People have to fail at some point in life and  any person who thinks they are perfect are going to continually fail, especially since they think they are perfect that they think they can accomplish anything. No matter how perfect they try to become, failure will always be present. Sometimes the thought of perfection being necessary becomes so important to people that they forget about other issues in their lives.
In the movie Friday Night Lights, the town of Odessa strives for perfection for their football team the Permian Panthers. Every person in Odessa was only focused on the perfection of their football team and anytime the team lost, it was a blow to the entire community. They even went to the length of putting for sale signs in the coach’s yard when they lost. The town forgot about the social issues that plagued the town and the education of the children because of the need perfection of their football team, which they did not accomplish. If perfection leads to more failure, why do people try for perfection? Have you tried for perfection and failed even more?

  1. People keep trying for perfection since they know one way not to get perfection and want to try a different way. They learn from their mistakes and keep trying again till they succeed at obtaining perfection. Perfection is a lot like the American Dream though. It too can never be obtained.

  2. Do you think that people try to "be" perfect because that's what people expect of them? It's true that nobody is perfect but so many pretend to be. But what would happen if, suddenly, there were no expectations...no pressure? Would there be no standard set...no bar to raise...nothing to aspire to? Interesting post!
